Root to Bite: Every Food Has a Story. It’s Time We Discovered It.
How much do we really know about the food we eat? Why we started Root to Bite, and what you can expect from us.

From the Source to Your Plate.
Every day, we make choices about what we eat.
We pick up a packet of spices, pour oil into a pan, add honey to our breakfast, or choose products that promise purity, quality, and authenticity. We look at the packaging, read a few words on the label, and make a decision.
But have we ever stopped to ask a simple question?
How much do we really know about the food we eat?
Where did its ingredients come from? Who grew them? How were they processed? What happens inside the factory before a product reaches the shelf? And when a brand makes a claim about quality or purity, what information helps us understand whether that claim is supported?
These questions are where the journey of Root to Bite begins.
Why Root to Bite?
Food is more than something we eat. It connects us to farmers, soil, seasons, traditions, businesses, and the people who work behind the scenes to bring it to our plates.
Yet, somewhere between the farm and the final product, much of that story becomes difficult to see.
We see the packaging, but not always the process. We hear claims, but may not know what evidence supports them. We recognize ingredients, but may know very little about their origins, sourcing, or journey through manufacturing.
Root to Bite was created around a simple idea: consumers deserve a clearer view of the food behind the label.
We want to look beyond packaging and marketing to explore the people, ingredients, processes, and decisions that shape the food we consume.
Not to create fear around food. Not to declare products good or bad without evidence. But to ask better questions, explore the available facts, and make food information easier to understand.
Going Beyond the Label
A food label is an important starting point. But there is often more to learn.
A product's journey may involve a farmer growing the raw ingredient, a trader or supplier sourcing it, a manufacturer processing it, and a brand bringing the finished product to consumers.
Each stage can tell us something valuable.
At Root to Bite, we want to explore questions such as:
- The source: Where do ingredients come from, and how are they sourced?
- The process: What happens to ingredients before they become a finished product?
- The people: Who are the farmers, manufacturers, and founders behind the food?
- The evidence: What do labels, certifications, test reports, and other available records actually tell us?
- The claims: What does a brand promise, and what information supports that promise?
We also believe in understanding the limits of the information available. A certificate or laboratory report can be useful, but its meaning depends on what was assessed, when it was assessed, and which product or batch it covers.
Because transparency is not just about sharing information. It is about helping people understand what that information does—and does not—prove.
The People Behind Our Food
Behind every food product is a chain of people and decisions.
There are farmers who understand their crops and seasons. There are processors and manufacturers who turn raw ingredients into usable products. There are entrepreneurs trying to build food businesses, solve problems, preserve traditions, or introduce new ideas.
We want to hear their stories.
Through conversations with food founders, visits to farms and manufacturing facilities, ingredient explainers, and in-depth articles, Root to Bite will explore how food moves from its source to our plates.
We want to ask honest questions, understand real challenges, and share insights that help consumers see the bigger picture.
Not every story will be perfect. Not every question will have an easy answer. And not every claim will have enough available evidence to reach a firm conclusion.
That is precisely why these conversations matter.
No Fear. No Blind Trust. Just Better Questions.
Food conversations can quickly become confusing. One source may praise an ingredient, another may question it, and a brand may make promises that are difficult for an everyday consumer to evaluate.
We believe there is a better way to approach these conversations.
We will aim to distinguish between what a brand claims, what available evidence supports, and what remains uncertain or needs further investigation.
We will avoid making sweeping promises about products or treating a single report as proof of everything. When information is missing, we should say so. When we get something wrong, we should be willing to correct it.
Our goal is not to tell you what to eat.
Our goal is to help you understand your choices better.
Because informed decisions begin with informed questions.

This is the beginning of a journey, and there is a lot we want to explore.
You can expect:
- Conversations with Indian food founders and the people building food businesses.

This Is Just the Beginning
Root to Bite starts with curiosity: curiosity about ingredients, about the people behind our food, and about the journey that connects a source to a finished product.
We know that understanding food takes time. Supply chains can be complicated, information can be incomplete, and meaningful transparency requires more than attractive packaging or convincing words.
That is why we want to keep asking questions, examining evidence, listening to different perspectives, and learning along the way.
If you have ever wondered where your food comes from, how it is made, or what a claim on a label really means, you are in the right place.
Welcome to Root to Bite.
Let's look beyond the label, discover the story behind our food, and make more informed choices—one ingredient at a time.
